Photography Session Policies: FAQs

We like to keep things simple, but the few policies we do have are essential to keeping everything running smoothly. Before booking your photography session, take a moment to review these guidelines. They’ll help you decide if our services align with your needs and ensure that you have a seamless experience from start to finish.
📅 Booking & Payment Policy
To secure your date and guarantee availability, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. This deposit locks in your session and goes toward your total balance.
Before we finalize your shoot, you’ll receive and sign our photography agreement, which ensures we’re aligned on expectations. The remaining balance is due upon delivery of your final images.
Scheduling & Consultation
We’re currently developing an online scheduling system, but because every shoot is unique, we prefer to start with a conversation. This helps us understand your vision, needs, and any special details before setting a date.
How to Schedule a Consultation: You can book a 30-minute consultation with us here. During this call, we’ll assess your needs, provide recommendations, and send you a detailed proposal and agreement before moving forward.
Rescheduling & Cancellations
Life happens, and we try to be as flexible as possible. Here’s what you need to know about rescheduling and cancellations:
Rescheduling: We offer one complimentary reschedule as long as you provide at least 30 days’ notice.
Cancellations & Late Reschedules: If you cancel after 30 days of your session, your deposit will not be refunded nor are you guaranteed a reschedule. We understand that life happens, so if an emergency or extenuating circumstance arises, give us a call and we’re happy to discuss your options.
Payment Plans for Large Projects
For larger projects and corporate clients, we offer flexible payment plans, allowing you to pay on a monthly or quarterly basis. Let us know during your consultation if you’d like to explore this option.
Respecting Time & Deadlines
We value your time and ask for the same in return. To keep everything running smoothly, we provide a detailed timeline outlining key milestones and deadlines, ensuring you know exactly when actions are needed on your end.
Shoot Day Punctuality
If you arrive late, we’ll do our best to adjust, but we can’t guarantee we can make up for lost time. Especially if we are doing a full production with multiple crew members and cast.
If an extended session is possible, an additional fee will apply.
Revisions & Approvals
Timely feedback is crucial to keeping your project on track.
If revision or approval deadlines are missed, a 10% project fee will be applied to account for project delays.
Extended Projects & Delays
If your project extends more than 4 weeks past the approved deadline due to missed deadlines or lack of communication, we will need to reschedule your project to accommodate other clients.
Image Ownership & Usage Rights
Ownership & Copyright
We retain full copyright to all images, as per U.S. copyright law. However, you’ll receive a license to use them for agreed-upon purposes, such as marketing, advertising, or social media.
Usage Rights
Standard License – Grants you permission to use the images for specific commercial/non-commercial purposes outlined in our contract (e.g., website, social media, ads).
Extended License (Buyout) – If you need full rights to the images with no restrictions, you can purchase a buyout for an additional fee.
Exclusivity – Exclusive usage rights for a set period or permanently can be arranged for an additional cost.
Restrictions
Images cannot be resold, transferred, or modified without permission unless specified in our agreement.
If a third party (such as a partner brand) wants to use the images, they must purchase a separate license or obtain written permission.
Photographer’s Usage
I reserve the right to use images for my portfolio, website, and marketing unless we agree otherwise. If privacy is a concern, we can discuss an NDA or privacy clause before your shoot. We want to feel as comfortable as possible so if you’re uneasy with having your images on public display, we understand!
Digital & Print Options
We offer digital-only packages with the option to purchase prints. We know how important it is for you to own and access your digital files. Every image you purchase—whether as part of an album, collection, or single—includes a high-resolution digital file, ensuring you have a professional-quality version for your use. We are also happy to resize the files for you based on your intended use.
For those who require RAW files, they will only be provided under a separate copyright agreement. Without this agreement in place, RAW files will not be issued.
